Training for professionals who have a professional responsibility to prevent suicide.

Who is this training for?

This training is aimed at professionals working with adults and adolescents aged 14 and over, who have a professional responsibility to prevent suicide. Within their organization, they play a role in identifying people at risk of suicide, but not in managing suicidal individuals. Their workplace must be able to apply the various protective measures presented in the training course.

Training goals

At the end of this training, the participant will be able to direct and orient an intervention with a person having suicidal ideation, and will learn the best practices according to the situation, the clientele and the level of dangerousness.

Duration: 3,5 or 7 hours

Targeted competencies

3,5 hours training

The half-day version of this training focuses on the above learning objectives through the presentation of best practices and interactive activities. It is recommended for participants with some experience in helping relationships, who may not need practical exercises to integrate the learning.

7 hours training

The full-day version has all the approach of the half-day version, but includes more case studies and role-playing opportunities to further integrate learning. It is recommended for settings that plan to screen more often due to work with at-risk clienteles, or for people with less experience with the helping relationship who would benefit from additional practical exercises.

Possible variations

This training has been adapted for several clienteles. A discussion with a member of our training team will allow you to determine the most suitable variation for your team.

  • This training is offered to participants from the same organization in a closed group. 
  • The number of participants per group :
    • minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 
  • A certificate of training is issued upon completion of the entire course.
